John Jacaman

Symphonē Founder WBC Live VIVE Network Jacaman Ranch · $50M+ exit

John Jacaman is a serial entrepreneur with more than three decades of operating, investing, and infrastructure-development experience. His career has been defined by a consistent pattern — identifying fragmented, capital-heavy markets and applying software-defined discipline to industries that have historically resisted it.

His career began rebuilding and exporting heavy equipment into Mexico in partnership with family operations, where he has been a personal investor in real estate and oil and gas for decades. He led the development of Jacaman Ranch — a 1,400-acre master-planned mixed-use community in north Laredo adjacent to Laredo International Airport. He secured the financing, originated millions of dollars in construction loans, and exited the multi-use development for over $50 million at a sale that achieved record pricing in the market.

In media, John negotiated a global licensing partnership with the World Boxing Council to launch WBC Live, a 24/7 boxing channel broadcasting fights worldwide. That experience led him to launch VIVE Network, a global Ultra-HD streaming platform with technology partnerships across Globecast (Orange Group subsidiary) and Harmonic Inc. (NASDAQ: HLIT). VIVE has since evolved into Symphonē, a cloud-native live-production platform anchored by a strategic partnership with RED Digital Cinema (a Nikon company) — the standard-setter in premium digital cinema since 2007.

John founded GeoTex Energy in 2025 to apply the same infrastructure-platform discipline to the fragmented Texas private energy market — bringing software-defined regulatory infrastructure through SEC-registered ATS and FINRA-regulated rails to bear on an asset class that has been historically underserved by modern capital-markets technology.

Mike Rollins is a Professional Engineer licensed in Oklahoma (license #35515, Active, no enforcement actions) with more than 40 years of operating experience in independent oil and gas. He served as Vice President of Engineering across six NGP-funded portfolio companies, all of which were successfully exited, including the Crow Creek Energy series and the Bravo Natural Resources series.

Two of these transactions are publicly documented in SEC filings:

  • Crow Creek Holding Corporation was acquired by Penn Virginia Corporation (NYSE: PVA) for $71.5 million in 2006.
  • Crow Creek Energy II LLC was acquired by Eagle Rock Energy Partners (NASDAQ: EROC) for $529.5 million in 2011.
Strategy Match

"Mike's career is a working blueprint for the exact playbook GeoTex is proposing — small-team E&P, multi-basin acquisitions, exit to public-market buyers."

Mike's technical experience covers reservoir engineering, drilling and completions, production optimization, and reserves evaluation across the Anadarko, Arkoma, Woodford, and Barnett basins. His active relationships extend into the current NGP-portfolio orbit including Blackbeard Operating — based in Fort Worth, Texas, one mile from GeoTex's registered address — which divested 90,000 net Arkoma acres in May 2025. That network is not historical; it is current.

License verification is publicly available through the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Mike is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (Fort Worth Section).

Why This Team

A team that has already executed this playbook.

Every seat at the table is held by a partner with verifiable institutional credentials, documented track record, and direct prior execution of the model GeoTex now applies to Texas private energy. That assembly has four direct consequences for the clients we work with.

Defensible Engineering

Reservoir, reserves, and economic work is delivered by a licensed professional engineer with 40+ years of NGP portfolio-company experience. The technical work product is bank-grade — built to support capital decisions, lender underwriting, and acquisition diligence.

Senior Talent on Every Engagement

Conventional energy consulting firms put senior partners on the sales call and junior staff on the work. GeoTex partners do the work. Every engagement carries credentials normally reserved for late-stage firms — at the rate structure of a focused boutique.

Capital Markets Access

The team's relationships extend across NGP-funded operators, regulated capital-markets infrastructure, and senior business-development networks built through a $275M public-market acquisition. Clients gain visibility into capital channels most boutiques cannot offer.

Three Phases. One Platform.

The same team that delivers reservoir engineering today also operates the acquisition strategy of Phase 2 and the tokenized-debt product roadmap of Phase 3. Clients work with the same people across every stage of the platform.
